It's not until later on though, so if you don't feel like reading the first part then don't.
I had a long day today. It was solo/ensemble. And for those who don't know, solo/ensemble is a really big deal in WI. So much more so than in IL. We have 3 classes and a larger rating scale, and if you get a starred first in class A you go to state solo/ensemble. I accompanied 22 events today. And about 10 of them were stupid "The Gift of Love" by Hal Hopson. I am never doing that song again. Nor "Linden Lea" by Ralph Vaughn Williams. That song is so not Vaughn Williams, it's so romantic style, so non-manly, which is the opposite of everything else he does. Most of the people I played for got 2's which isn't bad. A few got 1's and a few got 3's, which I kind of feel bad for. They were on boy's whose voices are changing and don't really have a sense of where their voice is because it's so unsettled... I have mixed feelings about the ratings. I need to see the judge's sheet. Oh and some of the judges today were just jerks. But that's all I'm going to say about that. If you want to talk more in detail about it, email me or call me.
Now, Decatur/central IL people, this is for you. On Thursday I have an interview in LaSalle, IL. And since Saturday is Oratorio, and the choirs are singing Verdi's "Requiem" so I'm so there. But I don't know what I'm going to do during rehearsals and classes and stuff. I need ideas/events/parties/I don't know. Things to do, people to see, stuff like that. Any ideas as to what I can do? Like Friday I have no idea what I am going to do.
OK that's it. I'm going to bed. I'm tired and my fingers hurt.
