[Warmth. He recognises warmth.

In the middle of the hall is an odd sight: an unconscious boy, flat on his stomach, clutching a naginata and surrounded by an odd pile of rocks, and looking half-frozen to death. Which is precisely what he is, really.]

Wait...

[His thoughts are fuzzy, but he's still alive. Suddenly the rocks begin to shift-- they ( Read more... )

[He's been coming back to the hall in the vain hope of finding someone he knows, but seeing the young man, he approaches, keeping just a few feet's distance out of a healthy respect for the naginata and curious statue. The latter he glances at occasionally, his eyes sharp with interest, but it's the boy who's in trouble.]

You're in the city hall of Splendor. Does that sound familiar at all?

[he's able to lift his head, and upon seeing that he has company strains to rise, wincing as he manages to bring his torso off the ground while favouring his left arm]

I've never heard of it.

[Still injured, then. Gast isn't inclined to make the boy rise, instead coming closer to kneel down, and he clucks his tongue at himself when he realizes how cold he looks.]

Where are you hurt? [His hands move to unbutton his coat, to offer--one thing about living in the Alpine district is that Gast is rarely without his coat. As he does that, he continues talking:]

It's a strange place, this city. The ones who live here don't talk about it, and the ones who talk about it know hardly anything.

[Rimudo looks away, though he doesn't drop back down]

I'm fine.

[lies, he isn't, but he's not about to admit it. he grits his teeth in frustration]

I can't stay here. I have to go to someone.

[he knows he's not in his own world, but his inability to think rationally at the moment is preventing him from accepting that there's no easy way out]

Your body doesn't feel the same. [Not scolding, but a statement of facts. He has to go to his wife and child, so he understands the frustration. Coat off, he offers it now for the extra warmth.]

It seems we're isolated here. At any rate, you're in no condition to be traveling.

[button pushed] [he turns back to Gast, straightening as much as he can]

I don't care!! I'll recover quickly. What happens to me isn't important, but I have to go to her-- I have to find her. Whatever it takes, even if it should be impossible, I have to!

[the rock statue brings an arm to its mouth, tilting its head, then throws out both its arms and in a flurry of rocks grows to near human-size to lift Rimudo to his feet before changing once more into a horse. Rimudo leans against it, holding his left arm with his right; then grudgingly accepts the offered coat and drapes it over himself]

Surely there must be a way out.

[The fierceness of Rimudo's protest startles him at first, but he's about to counter with logic when what the devil is that statue doing now. Gast nearly falls back in surprise, definitely taking a step away, staring at the stone horse until the boy speaks again. His hand rubs lightly at his chest.]

There should be, as we've gotten in here. [Unless this is death.] But it hasn't been found yet. Even with this--[nodding his head at the horse]--can you get to another world?

[action] I'm very picky about icons and there are so few for this guy... xDa; fuzaanki1000 October 29 2010, 00:42:21 UTC
[he blinks, then looks at the stone horse]

Namame? No, he's-- the same as me. Neither of us are able. [eyes narrowed] But I'll find a way.

[action] lmfao this guy and icons--I feel your pain. cetrastudies October 29 2010, 02:50:47 UTC
[He sighs, shaking his head and adjusting his glasses.] Rest. You can't hare off hurt and directionless. The city's surrounded by mountains. [Well, what part of it isn't covered by sea. ...He's assuming you can't go by sea, rock sinks.] I want to leave as well, but-- [He grits his teeth.] I haven't found a way.

Again, I'll be fine. [as he leans against Namame, but mere details] I heal fast. If it's mountains, I'm used to them, but getting out of the city likely doesn't mean getting out of this world.

...How long have you been here?

No, not likely.

A day, so it's not as though all possibilities have been exhausted. But no one seems to have any leads, which is... concerning, considering the number of people that have been brought here. [An understatement.]

[Also derp derp, because I tagged in on this late my mind slid a bit on how long Gast had been here before finding Rimudo. I need to keep better track of stuff like that. /_\]

Is there such a large number of people outside their worlds?

[ooc; hee, no worries!]

That seems to be the situation.

...I hope you're able to find who you're looking for. I need to find my wife and daughter.
