Isn't it? It's also doubly annoying that we still don't have a clue of what they'd want from us. I mean, who goes around kidnapping people and then giving them free housing and free stuff? It doesn't make sense...

But the Locals - hell, the entire city - seems pretty touchy with violence. They'd even summon a snowstorm just to curb it.
