[The video seeming to be looking around for a moment. The area around the owner of the video is decidedly vacant save for a few locals here and there. It's sunny and bright and sandy; most likely the Bungalows.]

It seems I've misplaced a few people, and there's talk of disappearances. I suppose I'm confused~

[ ace is usually lost, so finding himself near the bungalows was actually not something that hadn't happened before. he seems him talking to the seal, and something about it calls to his attention. ]

. . . You misplaced people? How does that happen?

[Jade turns to give the new person a once-over.]

A figure of speech~ I simply don't know where they are.

Ah, you mean the constant disappearances?

Or maybe, could it be they didn't want to be here with you anymore?

[ heh. ]

Indeed.

[He rose a brow, apparently unaffected, even amused.]

Entirely possible, I suppose, though disheartening.

[ that's good-- it makes him want to pry deeper. ]

I've been here for a really long time-- by your "time" standards, of course.

And by now, I realize that kind of thing is normal-- maybe even necessary for the survival of the land.

You mean people disappearing?

[He thinks on this.]

Well, I suppose. it keeps things from becoming overpopulated in any case.

Overpopulated? I suppose.

Although, I was mostly thinking... if I was the city, I wouldn't like this many foreigners around, either.

[ . . . . ]

I'd find a way to... get rid of them.

[He frowned a bit, but quickly went back to smiling easily.]

Get rid of them? ....

How would you accomplish this?

Hm...

Well, i'm not a city, so I couldn't tell you how it would act. As for me, well, I am-- [ ah, wait. ] I used to be the Knight of Hearts, so there's only one way to guarantee you'll never see someone again, right?

[He mulls this over for a long moment, then shifts his weight, hands in his pocket.]

I suppose not, but what about hypothetically~?

[A light grin.]

Depends on what you mean by see~ You can always blind yourself~

[ . . . . haha. what's this? it's like he's speaking his language, now. ]

Blinding myself will take half the fun away from disappearing someone, though! Don't you agree?

[Jade chuckled.]

I suppose that could be true~

It's a little sad, however. In my world, foreigners were meant to be "loved". Right here, they're a dime a dozen, so it's easy to lose interest and feel overwhelmed.

Loved? An interesting way to treat foreigners.

[A light shrug.]

Lose interest? I suppose you don't interact with many people here, then~

Falling in love with foreigners was part of the "Game" that ruled Heartland, you see. Not that it was thrilling. What do rules matter, anyway?

[ as for that last part, there's no real answer. ]

[What an interesting lad.]

Hm~ Not a very fun game, sounds like. I don't think I'd be able to deal with it. Being here must be a welcome reprieve~?
