The Prince prowls the streets, a soft smile gracing his lips. Though, if one was to stop and truly take him in, the slight twist of his features might be taken in a more sinister light. Or perhaps in the lack of any light, with the absence of the pale glow that often seems to shine around his features replaced by a shadowy tinge. His lithe steps

Mat stirs from inside of the alleyway nearby Siegfried. He blinks as Siegfried walks by and gets up before calling out:] Siegfried?
Reply
[He stops, turning with deliberate slowness to face Mat. Despite that persistent smile, there is nothing remotely friendly about him as he takes in the other prince and their surroundings haughtily, even coldly.]
Hmm? What do you want?
Reply
Mat makes an almost unnoticeable double take when Siegfried speaks and looks at him like that.]
Nothing really. [He shrugs, eyeing Siegfried a bit warily.]
Blood and bloody ashes, are you feeling okay?
Reply
[Yes, he feels better than he has in a long time. Once again, he can stand as proudly as is his right, and be sure of that right. Still, however he feels, there is still that ache burning in his heart, reminding him of what Mat interrupting.]
But I do have... ah... business to attend to. Do not interfere.
Reply
You don't sound like you're alright, unless...[unless you weren't alright when we met. No.] You don't sound like you're alright.
[And a smirk, ignoring the order.] What kind of business?
[Mat shifts so he can see more outside of the alleyway, gripping his ashandarei comfortably in his right hand.]
Reply
I am just as I should be. Don't worry.
[He has no... interest in this, and as he recalls his conversation with Mat distantly, a slight quickening of his heart leads him to turn away, though he puts disdain into the motion. All that he spoke of then had been so foolish... Inclining his head, he chuckles mockingly.]
That is none of your concern. As I said, all you must do is avoid interfering.
Reply
And a raised eyebrow. What happened to the idealistic prince of before?]
And if I choose to interfere?
Reply
[His eyes sink into thin slits of bloody pink, all traces of false amusement scoured quickly from his features. Mat is not one he would steal a heart from, and so... What need is there for patience?]
Then I will make it impossible for you to hinder me further. However I must do so.
Reply
Mat chuckles, ready to make a knife appear in his left hand.]
You're welcome to try. [He's already won the game that can't be won; whatever Siegfried can throw at him will probably be no match for his luck. Even though he doesn't quite know how far away Siegfried is.]
Reply
[He twirls around and takes a smooth step forward, his half-lidded eyes radiating dark confidence.]
Is that so? You will fight me so easily? I see how willing you are to hurt me...
[And even if he would not have taken Mat's heart, that sets a thorny prickling encircling his own for another reason. True, they have not spoken much, but if he is valued so little... Or so it seems to him... Then truly, this is best. He grins, and it is not a pleasant sight.]
Reply
Mat raises an eyebrow and smirks.]
Fighting you, hurting you, and defending myself aren't the same thing, Siegfried.
[Mat merely blinks at the grin; Padan Fain, other Darkfriends, and the Gholam have sported much more disturbing grins.]
Reply
...I suppose you are right...
[Again, that tainted laughter. Perhaps it is not as monstrous as others Mat has heard, but it might be unsettling to hear from the apparent Prince Charming.]
If only because I am no longer any foolish swan. I am the Prince of the Ravens! And I certainly have no qualms about hurting you.
[And as he speaks, he arcs his arms sharply to his sides, his hands curving into pale talons.]

Mat freezes and blinks once before glaring at the other prince, brown eye hard. Now his voice isn't as light and is a great deal more angry.]
I'm the bloody Prince of the Ravens, not you. Why would you even call yourself that? Wasn't your enemy a monster Raven? What happened to you Siegfried?
[He shifts his grip on the ashandarei, ready to use it if he must.]
Reply
I only call myself what I am. Nothing happened to me, I merely decided to accept that. It's true, I may have... misunderstood who my true enemies were before, but now...
He smirks; he keeps having to explain it, but it seems so obvious to him. His tone is as lofty as before, darkened by distant amusement.]
There will be no further misunderstandings. Everything is clear to me.
Reply
[He frowns, still glaring at the other prince.] Mother's milk in a cup! Something did happen to you, Siegfried. What about your princess?
Reply
I... have no princess.
[He will find one, of course, and then he will have her heart and he will never be alone-
His voice sinks into a hiss, but even so quiet, it is tinged with his madness.]
I was a fool before. It is that simple.
