5th Arrow → Voice/Action

[There's a bit of silence on the seal, before Artemis speaks up. Her voice seems a little dull, not having the cocky tone it usually carried. Why is that, you ask? Well, this archer has gone from a team of six to a team of two.]

If anyone knew Robin, Superboy, M'gann, or Wally...They're all gone. [And that's all she says. She ends the feed there.] ( Read more... )

[Kaldur had noticed Artemis leaving. Part of him wanted to leave her alone, give her time because they had just lost over half their teammates. However, there was another much louder voice saying he should follow her. His own feelings about his team's disappearance were mixed to say the least. He could only assume the best: that they had returned to the cave or their homes, but Kaldur was the leader and thus tended to think about the OTHER options as well.

Still, there was not much he could do about his missing teammates now. It was out of his hands. What he COULD do was go after Artemis and discuss their next move or, at the very least, commiserate together.

It did not take long to track her down, but he let her sit by herself for a few minutes before stepping out onto the building's roof to join her.]

Artemis.

[It is not much of a greeting, he just doesn't know what to say]

[She knew you were there, Kaldur, before you approached. But she didn't acknowledge him. She wanted to be left alone right now, not that Kaldur seemed to care. She was sure he knew she'd want to be alone, yet here he was, coming to talk to her...

When he finally stepped forward, Artemis closed her eyes, not turning to face him. She simply continued to sit with her arms crossed over her knees.]

Kaldur. [Just an acknowledgment of his existence, really.]

[He supposed he should have known she knew he was there, she was nearly as stealthy as Robin (possibly stealthier since she did not have the tendency to laugh in the dark).

Kaldur stayed standing, staring out at the cityscape]

I have the feeling you do not wish to speak to me...or anyone for that matter.

Really? What's clued you in? Was it the fact that I'm on a roof? [Said a bit more sourly than she usually would with Kaldur. But even though she said this, she doesn't want him to leave. He's the last of her friends here. He better not dare try and leave her, too.]

[He wondered if he should point out that given the number of people he had encountered on the roof that avoiding someone up here was not as effective as she might think. He thought better of it however when he realized her tone was rather abrasive. She was NOT happy and it sounded like she was taking it out on him.

Not exactly the reaction he was expecting...then again he hadn't known Artemis long enough to know how she reacted to all situations]

Perhaps that was not the small talk I should have started with...since I am here I hope you do not mind me joining you. We do not have to speak if you do not wish to, but I felt that I could provide you an outlet if you so wish.

Yeah, sure, whatever. [She turned her head away, waiting for Kaldur to come and sit. She said nothing more for a long while, either. She didn't really have anything to say. She was angry, upset, frustrated, and so much more. Why did the team have to ditch them like this? Weren't they a team? Weren't they friends? Didn't that mean they were supposed to stick together? Yeah, she was new to this team stuff, but she thought she had that much figured out.]

[Kaldur took a seat next to Artemis. He was not sure if he should return to sitting silently or continuing to talk in the hopes that the conversation would pick up. He wasn't expecting much of a conversation so much as a blow up of emotion. He just wasn't sure about how Artemis handled these things as there was no presidence]

They did not leave purposefully, Artemis. It is the nature of this place.

[She didn't respond right away. At first, she simply turned her head to face forward once more, her eyes closing again.]

I....I know. Doesn't make it suck any less.

No. No it does not, however the way you are lashing out makes me wonder if you truly accept that.

[He didn't look at her, continuing to stare ahead instead]

We will stick together, Artemis. Perhaps if we can learn more about this place we can learn the nature of how to return to our own world as well.

It's just hard to be a team when most of them aren't even here.

[Silence followed, but she found herself sighing, though she did nod.]

Maybe. If we can find out more.
