[Roxas was sitting on top of the city hall building. It wasn't quite clear how he'd gotten up there but Roxas had always been pretty good at getting on top of buildings he probably wasn't supposed to. He'd been avoiding a lot of people recently for various reasons, but even as anti-social as he could be it was starting to get boring

[It's that girl again and Roxas is pleased to hear from her because he wants to know more about her because that nagging feeling of KNOWING her will not leave him]

I don't mind. Can you get up here okay?

[A quiet sigh of relief.]

I'm sure I can manage it. Don't worry. Just...give me a moment.

I'll wait right here. Just...I don't want the ice cream to melt.

[Yeah, because that's the ONLY reason he wants her to hurry up]

[Cleverly utilizing corridors of darkness, she shows up a few steps behind him. She hesitantly approaches the boy.]

Um...H-Hi...

[Roxas looks over his shoulder. There's a pang of discomfort in his head but he manages not to show it. Seriously, who is this person and why does it bother him so much?]

Hey, glad you could make it.

[Without realizing it he's already pulled out one of the sea-salt ice cream bars and is holding it out to the person]

[She takes it, smiles, and nods.]

Thank you for inviting me, Roxas. [She nibbles nervously at the tip of the ice cream before sitting down next to him.] I've been...meaning to talk to you, actually.

No problem. [Technically he'd invited a lot of people, but he'd been hoping this girl would show up. He wants to figure out why he thinks he should know her.

He hesitates and then looks over at her]

Well, to be honest, I'd wanted to talk to you too.

[She swings her legs for a moment, taking a deep breath. It's very difficult not to be consumed by nostalgia. But this had to be gotten over with. She wanted her friend back, dearly. Quietly, she speaks up.]

Roxas...You. Recognize this coat I'm wearing, don't you...?

[He looks over at her, studying the coat again just to be sure, but there is no mistaking that coat so he nods]

Yeah, it's a coat from the Organization. But...I'm sorry I don't recognize you at all. I know my memories are still a little fuzzy because of Twilight Town and what DiZ was doing with Sora...but I know I should know you and I remember almost all of the other members.

[He looked up at her, both curious and confused]

So why can't I remember you?

do you have anywhere i can bug you about plot stuff? Maybe? :3?

[She's still anxious about telling him the whole thing, but she doesn't want to lie.

I...We used to be...friends.
You, and me, and Axel too.

We would sit on the clocktower, just like this, and watch the sunset.

...But. [A long pause as she takes a gentle breath. He...It would be too much to tell him everything at first. She can't do it.]

I had to...go away. And then...When I did? Naminé said it would make everyone forgot about me...All traces of me were gone. Then...I ended up here.

[Roxas blinks and then suddenly he winces again. Something...a memory...pounds at his brain but it won't take root.]

But, you're here now, right? So...I should be able to remember you. It...it wouldn't be fair otherwise.

[Roxas knew he didn't have many friends. The Organization wasn't a friendly group and he wasn't like Sora who had friends on so many worlds...at least...he wasn't EXACTLY like Sora. Still, these emotions he was feeling...those had to be based on something that happened with Xion right?]

I guess...that it's not so easy. You were my best friend and...I don't want to cause you any trouble. You've had enough done to you, I don't want to add any more stress to that pile...[She's looking down as if ashamed, swinging her feet absently.]

It's not your fault...[There's a tugging in the back of her head that wants her to break down and tell him how much he means to her. How they were best friends. What they went through together.

But looking at the confusion on his face...
She can't.]

[Roxas looks troubled for a minute longer, but he makes sure to keep his expression turned away from Xion. If he could remember Axel after what DiZ had done to him then he should be able to remember Xion too. He didn't care what it took he was NOT going to let something take his memories like that.

After a moment he looks up at Xion]

Then we'll just have to start over then. I mean...if you still want to be friends, I guess. [He offers her a small smile because as far as he is concerned the choice has been made]
