[GOOD MORNING. guess who's got feet enough to move again! and it only took, what. a week? good times. though Alex hasn't gotten to prowling yet; he's on the angled roof of the Gilded Castle, the story he'd been holed up in; his feet are dangling in Edel's window as he lounges, trying to...egh...enjoy this too-close sunshine

Alexander.
Why do you make Edel's life so miserable. He is in absolute shock the moment he enters the room, carrying what looks to be a few edible treats for an idiot. He drops them, of course, before storming into the room and acting ever so ridiculous.
Edel is ridiculous. ]
W-W-What are you doing?! Are you crazy?!

hey.
he let him get a night of sleep, didn't he? that's charity. and Alex was so bored okay. and he can practically time the reaction from the point where he hears the door creak - three, two...
a smiling sigh, cloudgazing.]
I recall a discussion like this...

Whatever, I'm done. Go ahead, get trampled by a rhino or something.
[ And he hands Alexander something. A spoon. ]
Here.

there's a delay at 'here' where he's just laying idle, but then sits up and slides to sit closer to the edge. he leans and peers down at what is being offered.]
Ah? What for?

Here, I figured you might like this. It always makes Lawrence and Nirinel feel better... back home.

I do not know what that is. Or your Lawrences or...[squint. articulate:] Ni-ri-nels. [but even so, he is in action, reaching with his (nearly scourge-free! just the soles) foot and making to snatch the spoon with his toes.]

Y-You still have capable fingers! Surely you can still use them, can you not?! I- I suppose if you're more used to ...
[ Ugh. that Scourge is disgusting, Alex. Seriously. So unhealthy. ]
... No, please. I'll even feed it to you if that's a better option.
[ And he suddenly seems a little indignant, his face flusters slightly as he speaks of... ] Lawrence is my friend. Nirinel is... a fellow student of magic. She and I live together in the summer months as we study magic.

but...MORE SIGH. he obliges, drawing his legs up and shifting out of sight, stretching out on his belly to reach down and pluck at the spoon with his hand dangling down from the roof as Edel explains.
teasing:] You live with a girl?

[ As he speaks, he opens the container for him. ]
It's only a temporary solution, I'm sure I'm taking up room in their house what with sleeping in their guest room... but it's better than nothing.

he watches from on high, setting the spoon on the edge of the roof.]
A bed is a bed. [read: why would you complain about something so silly as a guest room?]

[ And he shoves the container IN FRONT OF YOU ALEX. EAT IT. ]
I am... sometimes ashamed of taking her valuable time away with a case like myself. That's all!

Why is it cold?

Shaved ice and ice creams are popular in the tropics and in the capitol I was born in. It helps on hot, summer days. They can cool the body down, but eating too fast can cause strange headaches to also occur. Some people describe them as freezing brain syndrome, but it's not dangerous. You feel just a momentary shock of cold to the mind. Very strange, isn't it?

and his eyes start to glaze
so. many. words holy shit.
oh, but then it stops! he stirs into motion, plucking the carton by its lip, extra-tight when he gets a sense of the weight before lifting it up to his level on the roof.]
Ah-- [wait. what was he talking about?] Yes. Of course. [whatever, man.]

[ Edel isn't going to question if Alexander got all of that. More likely than not, it was always a no. ]
