02 - Ratwigle [ Action ]

[ After holing himself away in his cabin, and testing out this wish thing, Duke can be found wandering aimlessly through Splendor.

Or he seems to be wandering aimlessly. There is a few creatures that look like an odd rabbits without legs or body, hopping about. Where ever one is spotted, Duke is not too far behind. ]

[ Not like Peony was doing much of anything that day, besides looking about like a curious tourist still-newcomer. Of course, when he caught sight of the blobs following the tall stranger. He stopped. And blinked. What were they -

Oh they had ears? And were hopping but how and. Oh my god ... ]

What are those?

[ One starts hopping for the blonde man, and Duke quickly snatches it up. The rest are more well behaved, and start eating anything green nearby. ]

... Bunwigle.

Huh.

Are they tame? [ Grinning and watching it with much interest. Why'd you have to catch it, Duke? He wanted to hug it - or rather, give a one-sided hug, really. ]

. . . . They do not bite. [ But they like to roll and hop into people. And for fluffballs it hurts a little more than one would think. ]

....But they are monsters...

That doesn't really matter, right? [ a chuckle and then a pause - ]

Can I hold one?

[ Duke looks at the bunwigle he's currently holding, then holds it out to Peony. The creature stares at the blonde man. It could always headbutt him if it didn't approve. ]

[ HE PROBABLY wouldn't mind if the thing headbutted him.

He carefully collects it in his arms. ] Hello. [ Smiling at it like it's the cutest thing in the damned world. ]

[ The bunwigle burbles a little and staaaares some more. It obviously knows it is the cutest thing in the world.

Duke remains silently watching, and the bunwigle flops an ear into Peony's face. ]

[ Peony chuckles and yes he's nuzzling the ear that's flopped into his face. ]

[ Duke blinks once, and the bunwigle makes a happier burble and flops the other ear against Peony's face. ]

... Most view them as pests. [ He wasn't expecting anyone else to like them... ]

They remind me of my pets back home.

[ Pets, never pests. He grins and nuzzles the bunwigle close against his face - wow the ears were soft - ]

[ The bunwigle burbles quite contentedly. ]

.... How so? [ Duke is starting to wonder if Peony's Terca Lumireian as well now. ]

They're both cuddly and soft.

[ He glances back up at Duke, a carefree and rather calm expression on his face. He seems just as content as the bunwigle. ]

[ And the bunwigle seems rather content with Peony, which leaves Duke standing there with his normal blank expression. Well, it was tinging a little closer to thoughtful.. ]

... Squirrigles?

I - ... what?

[ Peony glances at Duke again. What is that name what. ]

Squirrigles. Bunwigles. [ It matched the definition in Duke's head. Similar, soft. ]

... Squirrels, but quite like the bunwigle. [ As in, squirrels without legs or feet. ]

... Also a monster.
