With all the weird wishes people make I thought for sure it woulda' come up before.

Maybe it has, and we just missed that conversation. It is something to think about though, if it's possible.

Yeah. Maybe that guy who collected all the information on the wishes knows somethin' about it.

[ He falls silent for a moment. The killings aren't something he wants to bring up, but he does need to make sure all of his friends are okay. ]

I hafta ask... Were you hurt at all when that guy went on his killin' spree?

[There's a pause before he answers.]

Yes. I was killed.

[ Firo supposes it was too much to hope that all of his friends made it away unscathed. ]

Oh... I'm sorry, Leoben. Are you... alright now?

[ He doesn't want to come out and ask what Leoben went through after he died. ]

[It's unlikely that Leoben would say anything even if he did.]

That's good, at least.

I... got killed too. And I don't know why, but this time I didn't come back like I usually do.

You didn't...put yourself back together?

[Leoben finds that odd, since his coming back to life seemed normal. Well, excluding the goo bath, and the fact that it wasn't supposed to happen.]

I was all in one piece when I woke up, but the weird thing is how long it took me ta' wake up. Normally it's just a few seconds of nothin', but this time I was out for a while.

[patternprophet]

How long were you out for?

[Admittedly, he didn't expect to wake up.]

I'm not sure exactly. A few hours, I think.

[patternprophet]

It was about the same for me. I think. I lost track of time.

[ Firo hesitates before asking his next question. ]

Did anything happen ta' you when you were dead?

[patternprophet]

[There's a pause. It's comforting to know that he's not the only one who experienced something, and Firo's hesitation gives him enough information to know it wasn't anything good. But still, the things that he saw are things he'd rather not tell anyone about. Well, let's see where honesty gets him, for now at least.]

[ There's more hesitation. He doesn't really want to go poking around in anyone's mind. Whatever Leoben suffered through is his business alone until he says otherwise. ]
