[Leoben is no stranger to death, indeed he knows it very well. He's died and been reborn more times than he cares to count, even though he remembers each time it happened. With startling detail. Even so, it is something that he fears. Especially now that death is permanent. The need to become more human, mortal, overcame the desperation for survival. Indeed, maybe they needed to get rid of resurrection to survive. Leoben doesn't know. All he knows is that death isn't a stranger to him.
However, in a place such as Splendor, death hasn't been something he's been too worried about. It's too peaceful for that and the violence rule prohibits it. That's one thing he likes about Splendor, having come from a time where his life was constantly on the line. Even during the eclipse he felt safe.
Which is why he didn't mind going for walks when the lights were out. He can see well enough in the dark, and he walks around at night a fair bit so he knows the roads well enough. However, something was different that night. Something seemed off, and Leoben wasn't sure how to describe it.
The encounter had happened quickly, and Leoben barely had time to register it. All he knew was that he was under attack, and did what he could to defend himself. Still, his attacker was fast, and he couldn't wish himself a weapon, and he knew in that moment that death was imminent.]
[He had expected peace. That his soul would be delivered to God and he would finally have peace. Instead he found pain. Pain and suffering as he remembered each and every one of the evils he had committed in his life. Those actions that had seemed right at the time but ultimately revealed to be the opposite. Everything that had happened with Kara. The fact that he was wrong, and it meant that everyone was doomed. And he couldn't escape from it.]
[He awakes as if from a nightmare, breathing hard, which is odd because he shouldn't be waking he's dead there's no resurrection here he died. His mind is racing and it doesn't make sense even if there was resurrection because he should be waking up in a new body not the one he left behind, but he feels the pain of resurrection, or is the pain from before? He's groping around for something solid, something that will clue him in to what is going on and his hand finds the seal. He doesn't really know that the video's on, doesn't really care]
Am I ...alive?
[ooc: One confused Cylon waking up from the dead. To make a long story short, Leoben was killed by Darkov and has just woken up. Action is welcome to roommates as well as visitors if there are any. Stuff behind the cut is just prose to record what happened to him and doesn't need to be responded to.]
