[so.
this prolonged-darkness action. how goes it, Splendor? still braving the outdoors under that weird new sky?
well. perhaps you have estranged company, or maybe it's just coincidence he's there, but Alex absolutely cannot let a situation like this go without inspecting. he's not one for stealth, so spotting him now and then isn't difficult.

Man, why's it so dark all of a sudden? Zelos?

he's got a bit of high ground in that area, and just the vaguest of eclipsed light to judge shapes and shadows by, and so he watches.
of course--]
No.
That is a wall.

but he's not being very altruistic about it, as he seems content to watch this poor kid struggle to find his way for a while. but only for a while. a good eight steps behind the boy, he lets out a very long, light sigh with a faint note of voice in it.]

W-Who's there?!
[...Then again it's too dark for him to see much, anyway.]

his voice is light, if not faintly teasing as far as the situation calls:] Where is your light, boy?

... eerie, to say the least. Every once in a while, his lantern would flicker and dance, but he refused to conduct magic to it. It was better to go... natural with these sorts of things. You never knew what sort of consequence could happen when a foul wind was around.
And so, he walked quietly- and carefully down the street. The light danced around him as it swayed back and forth, but beyond the beacon laid nothing more than darkness. As far as he extended it, it felt like the darkness was swallowing what little light there was. Even with this lantern, his visibility was only slightly better than worse, you could say. ]

of course, that just leaves more time to wonder just why Edel was wandering around here, now? maybe to hug some trees or something. Alex figures that's something he might do if no one was watching, ha ha...
so he's a distance away, but considering that lantern's like the only reliable light, it's not like it'd be hard to see him from any further...]

Edel took a look behind him and stopped. The light shone off his glasses as he raised the lantern, but he really thought nothing of it.
If anything, maybe it was all in his imagination. Perhaps it would be best to just enjoy the surroundings as they were and- perhaps, even stargaze.
Of course, that is assuming Edel wasn't uptight. ]

BORING.
and Alex is only allowing so much time for that nonsense. like, five minutes. tops. before he skulks into some foliage and decides to make a nuisance of himself.
rustle, rustle. SUSPICIOUS FOLIAGE-RUSTLING.]

He isn't particular bothered by the darkness itself - he knows Splendor more well enough to get around by now and there are some advantages in running around blindfolded for fifteen months and counting - rather than by it's cause, or rather apparent lack of. Too many memories of his last night at the islands keep rising, keeping him restless and on edge, even if aside of the darkened sky seems to point towards the destruction of Splendor.]

just what are you, he thinks.]

Frowning to himself, he decides to take no risk and changes directions to see if he's really being followed... or if the lasting darkness has just made him more paranoid.]

but Alex's gait does liven up a bit to compensate, arms swinging in a careless way as he walks parallel, shooting glimpses through alleys for that visual confirmation.]

Creeping around or something?

he rocks back and forth from his heels, nonchalant, and makes a surprised noise at the sound of the voice coming out of that suit.]
That sure is different!

Uh. Yeah, suppose so. Most people don't have this kind of thing where they're from.

Why are you wearing so much armor? What are you scared of here, hah? Are you a, eh...ah, one of those knights? With the lances and the horses?
