[GOOD EVENING, SPLENDOR, THIS IS YE OLDE COME MEET/VISIT MY CHARACTER POST. Especially (BUT NOT ONLY) if yours has been promoted to a Star some time ago
( Read more... )
[Arabia himself has a great affinity to the stars shimmering above the water. He had been born in the City of the Sea, all soft white stone, smoothed out by the wind, warmed by the sun. He had been taken at the edge of a lake, beneath a full pale moon and all these auspices are writ into his skin and the magic beneath it.]
[He lies on the sand, arms neatly crossed behind his head. His shoes were left behind, for obvious reasons. There's something very soothing about how cool and soft it becomes at this time of night, and he likes to curl his toes on the sand and dig his feet into it. He then places one ankle over his folded leg and sways it to the rhythm a quiet tune given to him by his Sea. He could sing himself to sleep after recounting all of the stars above, really, but his attention is slightly redirected towards the moon tonight -- there's a subtle change in it that he can't quite place...
Milen hears footsteps and tilts his head to see who approaches. There's an inquiring squint before he pushes himself up, leaning back on his elbows, shaking his fringe off his eyes. He should probably get himself a haircut soon, but that's something Tom would've mentioned to him back home before Milen ever even noticed its length.]
[He glances at the sound of his name, eyes catching the light. There's a reason his brother and his mother have always referred to him as a jewel, he glimmers in the moonlight.]
[He's sitting up straight now, wiping the sand off his hands before clasping them around his knees. Shaking his hair off his face is becoming a habit.]
I didn't expect to see you here. [He smiles with that reply; it's a pleasant surprise. The dogs then come to mind.] Are you alone?
[Arabia wanders Splendor, a little bit, but he finds nothing particularly surprising or interesting about the area, and it ultimately serves to make him homesick. He preferred to stay in the castle, and keep himself busy. The water calls to him, eventually, however. It always does.
He runs a hand back through his hair, says nothing of that to Milen if the little golem is so determined to pretend he does not know how to ocean calls.]
I am. Company hadn't occurred to me. The water does well enough.
[He tucks his hands into his pockets, his eyes still on the water.]
I was born in the City of the Sea. [He shrugs. He may be nonchalant, but it is both comforting and painful to talk about home.] I have never enjoyed being far from it.
[He has to free his hands again, so he can motion with them, making a round disk.]
The center is the jungle, along the edges the cities. [He motions to about seven o'clock on the circle.] The city is here, and the ocean goes on until the edge.
[It wasn't much of an ocean, really, certainly not by 'real world' standards.]
Oh, so you like to travel. [It makes sense. He grins again, satisfied with that conclusion.] I do too.
[but the words 'mother' and 'brother' spark another kind of curiosity. Family is something Milen never thought about acquiring, and something the Sea can't really give him.] How many brothers do you have?

I'm sure they do. I imagine they're asleep, however.

What's it like living there?

[He had been taken as a child, only returned there when there were errands to run.]
I'm sure it's pleasant enough.
