I guess....I'm just....terrified. I've dreamed for years what I might feel like when those floating lights--when the lanterns rise up in the sky. What do I do then? Find a new dream?

It sounds like you got very close to it already. I don't think you need the practice. You simply need to take the steps to do it.

You....think so? My smaller wishes so far have all worked, I guess I'm just nervous with something this big. I know others have wished for things from home, but....this is...I'm not even sure how many lanterns are in the sky back home that night.
