I shouldn't have expected one such as yourself to know of such a complex theory--but very well, I shall inform you: pretend for a moment that one day you decided to have eggs for breakfast. However, there exists the possibility that you also did not have eggs for breakfast, and thus creating a different world where you never did so. While overly simplified, that would be an example of a parallel world.
