[When Yamamoto doesn't return home and Gokudera doesn't show up at all, Tsuna knows something is wrong. Yamamoto's room is easy enough to get into. It's completely empty and the way the furniture has been arranged has returned to the way it originally was before Yamamoto moved in. Gokudera's room is a lot harder to check but a few carefully ( Read more... )

Y-Yeah, Yamamoto was one of the people living at the estate too.

...it's okay. They'll be alright back home.

Happier too, probably.

Oh. I guess I didn't see him much if at all. Even so, you'll miss them. You still have other friends here though, right Tsuna?

Oh, you would have liked him, I think. He's really friendly. His olderself is still with us though.

[nodding]

That's true.

Older self.....? [Wait so there had been two of him here? How was that even possible?]

His...adult self from another world. It's a bit difficult to understand I don't even know how it's possible, to be honest.

From another world? You mean not the one you know him from? [Trying to make sense of this....]

I think it's better to describe him as from a different time line.

[and this will probably make Rapunzel even more confused]

A different timeline?

I don't know if the way I explain it will make sense but---back home, there were multiple parallel worlds. Each of these worlds represent a different time line-- usually made when a different choice is made.

The Older Yamamoto's world is different from the world the younger Yamamoto and I come from because things happened differently. It could have been our world too but we were sent to the older Yamamoto's world to change things--which also changed our own future.

I...think I understand now. [If that were the case for her back home, would that mean there might be a world where she never went outside the tower with Flynn, or never even met him in the first place? It's so hard to imagine now, but for all she knew it might be possible.]

Eheh...I'm glad my explanation made sense. I think that's why we can have two Yamamotos--it might be like that for people in other worlds too.

I guess. I wonder if that's true for home for me too....

It might be.

I don't think it matters much though--I mean, only what happens in your own world effects you, normally.
