It's a relief, however, that those bubbles have finally disappeared. If the city is going to act so childish, it could at least make sure to douse people evenly with the paint.

[ This... made no sense.

After all he did, even if Kid showed no sign of hatred for what Suzaku did to him, he still wanted to check up on him? The knight in his unstable mindset could of well hurt the other male well beyond what he did-- and yet he stayed by his side. Kid should hate him; try to avoid him for all that he did-- the words that he said. So why didn't he?

Silence.

Finally... hesitantly Suzaku gripped the small device before flicking it on. When he spoke, his voice was a quiet. A little confused: ]

... I should be the one asking you that.

[ A lot of relief that Suzaku actually answered him, but Kid's genuinely perplexed here, since Suzaku's obviously the more emotionally compromised between the two. ]

You... can if you'd like, but I'm more concerned about your condition.

[ Oh Kid, you really were too kind to him. ]

I wasn't the one with-- [ A split second pause, almost as if he was forcing the words out. ] -- a gunshot wound.

Thankfully no, you weren't. We would be having this conversation in a much, much different circumstance if you had.

[ as in, a shinigami and a soul rather than two people talking. and really Suzaku, you have no idea how much that possibility vexed him ]

Please don't worry about that part. It's already healed and gone.

[ He's probably right. Suzaku didn't know how strong Kid was in the first place, so even pointing a gun would of had it's negative effects. If Kid only tried to defend himself, and yet-- ]

That still doesn't excuse what I did. It was childish of me to let me emotions get that far-- and to hurt you in the process.

I won't expect you to forgive me, but I do regret my actions. [ A beat. ] ... I'm sorry.

Suzaku... you were the one that was hurting, and not unrightfully so. There was nothing childish about that kind of grief, and there's no need to make excuses for it either. It's part of who you are... but it's not the entirety of who you are.

[ Kid leaves it there, because he doesn't want to put too much on Suzaku when he seems to just be recovering. ]

Of course you're forgiven. You shouldn't have to ask that either.

[ Listening to his words, it was almost as if the other could read straight through him. Suzaku wasn't that hard of a read, but... maybe Kid knew a little more about grieving then most. ]

I shouldn't deserve to be forgiven by you. After what I did, you should just... [ There's yet another silence that falls across the feed.

Apart of him wishes Kid would hate him; that way he would continue to live with the punishment he felt he deserved. Yet on the other hand he felt if he continued, Kid would only press this further. He didn't seem like the kind of person to lie about his decision.

So instead, the knight will just let a sigh. ]

[ it's said in a way which conveys that Kid genuinely believes that the knight will be all right, bumps in the road aside ]

Yeah. I will.

[ Suzaku knows it now, too. That even if Euphie is gone, he's still going to have to live on. Right. It's in her name that will guide his actions. ]
