[the video flashes on, showing a seated Nura, dressed in baggy, swoop-neck creme long-sleeve shirt, tight jeans, flip-flops, with a colorful scarf in her hair, patterned with daisies and butterflies. there is an untouched cup of tea sitting warm on the end-table beside her.]
You know...sometimes I think that we're all a little irrational. I know, I know. [she puts up her hands.] You're thinking, 'This coming from you?' But it's the truth. [she puts down her hands.] We fear things. And that's perfectly fine. Fear teaches us lessons. Teaches us humility. Teaches us that putting a fork in an electrical socket is a very bad idea. [she chuckles.] But...
[she becomes a little serious.] ...it also causes us to do things there are not appropriate. Kidnapping someone, for instance, or murder, abuse, suicide... [she frowns.] ...anger is in there as well, and sometimes, just blackness in a deep pit of the soul. It's awful. It's terrible. And I've seen so much of it, that sometimes, I just want to pull at my hair and scream. [she relaxes her shoulders.] But I don't.
I think a common fear with everyone is the fear of the unknown. The fear of the very end. The fear of death. And, as a precognitive, and a Naltorian and someone who has...well...died before...I have a much different view of that last door. [she looks thoughtful.]
When I think of...the end...I think of, well...DeeDee. [she smiles warmly.] And it makes me happy, to know that, this won't be the last time I see him. I'll see him again, as old friends, at the turn of my soul when it passes on. [she clasps her hands.] And that's why I don't fear Death. Don't misunderstand! I certainly won't be attempting anything...
[she puts her hands in her lap.] ...but it just helps me feel so free to know that, the end won't really be the end. To know that, the big, black robes will be worn by someone so deserving when he's at his prime. To know that, the dream...the Dreaming itself...it'll always be there. Just like DeeDee. The city's very own, Death the Kid. Son of Death.
[she beams.] But he's than that. He's so much more. And I'm so proud that he is who he is. You're going to be amazing, DeeDee. [she warms.] Absolutely amazing. You already are.
[she crosses one leg casually over the other. yes, she's seated.] I want to share with everyone stories of my home. Stories that...are not fiction. Far from it! These are stories that I only recently learned myself. And I think that, adult, child, or Endless alike...would enjoy them. Learn from them. [she smirks.] I could use a lesson myself, wouldn't you say?
