"Gilded Castle"...
[he's standing barefoot at the gates to said castle, staring up at it with the kind of smirk someone has when they're humoring a bad joke. wondering aloud is broadcasting aloud; the new seal is bound around his dexterous hand - he'll have to gnaw the strap if he wants it off. but...eh, he'll worry about it later

Ah-!
[ He stops then, realizing there's someone right in front of him near the entrance! Oh look, perhaps this man wouldn't ignore him... not that Edel was entirely sure that's what he wanted in the first place.
He waited to see what the man would do, but of course he isn't taking to account that just spoke out loud. ]

an eyebrow quirks. he notes the uncertain posture, the key...
he gestures vaguely with the raising of a wrapped arm.]
Is your house, here? A little big.
Reply
Absolutely not, I would never dream of spending a grotesque amount of resources on a manor of any sort.
[ He thins his lips now, looking up at the castle ]
...I'm sure it'd be a lonely life to live in a big box by yourself.

though that latest remark threatens to get an eyeroll; Alex manages to look up and away before any indication of that.]
Not meant for living alone in. Not without slaves or, eh...servants and the likes.
[he makes a thoughtful sound, glancing down as he tosses his key up and down, landing in the flat of his wrapped palm.] Hm-! Could be...mystery solved. Could be we are not to be guests, but servants, yes?

When they get inside the castle itself, they're free to notice the disgruntled redhead taking a break from his bedroom and sitting in a chair, looking out the window, seal sitting nearby so he can listen to it. He's been recently affected by the peculiar epidemic going around Splendor a bit, so he's currently not looking or feeling his best, and when he hears the door open, he picks his head up and stares at the source of the noise confusedly, squinting a little in the hopes of seeing who it is a little better.
Whoever it is... they don't look familiar...]

perhaps sickly Luke will enjoy the slightly off-key humming of an unknown tune? it echoes really nicely in such a vast place - Alex really couldn't resist after hearing his bare feet slap on the marble floor so nicely.
depending on the floor of this room in question, perhaps it's only a brief catch of a note, or maybe it's been going on for a while. either way, it's interrupted now and then with a few chance discoveries: a funny-looking statue here, a painting there...the most recent of which will send Alex's eyes upward as he walks, noting the ceiling decor.
it's all pretty ridiculously over-the-top, he thinks. but he kind of likes it. it's silly.
he starts up another note as he drops his gaze, peripherals catching that bit of motion in the room and halting. he tilts his head as he looks over, noting a face.
smile.]
This is...your floor, yes? Hello.

You should stop assuming that of everyone you meet. And-
[ *whoa* Luke, the hell is wrong with you? Edel takes a step forward to see if he can get a better look. As a potion alchemist, he's a little bit weary about the boy ]
... Are you ill?

[The rash is looking a lot redder and raw-er than it did when it first appeared, owing to him scratching at it somebody's never had chicken pox, but his eyes look about the same - blurry and semi-focused at best. There's nothing else wrong with him otherwise - he only got the water in his skin and eyes, after all.
Huh. There's two of them.]
Uh... I don't know. It started a couple days ago, and some other people've been getting it too. But I think the people down at the clinic said they don't think it's... contagious.
[Still, what are they doing here. He hasn't seen them before, and he's been here nearly a week.]
So are you guys staying here too?
