[ Crona stands motionless in front of the Rainbow Fountain, staring down at a coin-- that's right, a real coin, this little speck of at least some shade of home, previously acquired from Claire and currently laid in the center of his palm. there's been a lot on his mind lately. a lot about things that have happened during his stay at Splendor, and

[ she feels a pang of homesickness at thinking about the chances of going home again. but she steels her determination, because she promised herself she wouldn't stop trying until she got out of here. ]

I'm glad. I hope...you can r-return home someday.
I wonder...what it would be like, to actually get that choice. I-it makes being brought here seem a lot less "big", huh?

It would be nice if we could come and go whenever we wanted. I mean, aside from being stranded here, Splendor's not that bad.

Ah-- that would be nice...! Although...m-maybe not, because if we could get back in, what if...bad things got in? I'd hate for Splendor to be polluted...
[ about as much as he hates his hand in potentially polluting it himself, actually. ]
I guess that possibility exists even now, t-though.

It can't be helped though. I just wish I knew why Splendor brought us specifically here, and only us.

[ a tiny stutter of a laugh, and Crona continues, contemplative. it's true, there are a couple bad things-- people, really, that he can think of offhand. his roommate especially, Izaya...well-- at least Izaya hadn't been brandishing a gun so flippantly. ]
I wondered that for a-awhile, too. I think...after a couple months, it just stopped mattering to me. I don't think we'll get an answer...I tried, I even got hold of another "musicbox", but...I didn't f-find any real answers.
I guess I can just hope my...other friends show up, too. If we're going to be stuck here.

He does?! Are you alright?
[ that's a really worrying thought, that this poor guy lives with some kind of mass murderer. ]

[ a beat-- he feels little prideful to say this, to be honest! there's an edge to his voice, now, and his eyes narrow; brows drawing inwards. ]
I told him myself not to do it again. I-if he does, I'll stop him.

I'm...not sure how dangerous he is. H-he seemed to be doing it more to u-upset people rather than hurt anyone...he's mean, even in person.
I don't think there's a police force-- but...I know if you try to hurt anyone here, you're stopped.
[ he's a little vague on the means of that, but he doesn't really want to have to admit he's learned firsthand how well the Locals can stop violence. ]

Asahi assumes he learned this the same way she did: through the grapevine. She's just honestly glad there's some method of keeping safe around here. ] You'd think that since they go so far to keep them from hurting anyone, they just wouldn't bring in such dangerous people in the first place.

[ not that he's a saint, himself, but. he certainly didn't go out of his way to make complete strangers miserable. ]
That's right, I-I wondered about that...there must be s-some sort of qualification or method of choosing people, so...it makes no sense, if this city is s-so impressionable. I-I can't think of a reason why they would want something like that in t-the hands of strangers.

Though it seems to me like the city chooses people at random. Maybe it'd help if we did a survey of what people were doing before they arrived.

O-oh! That's a good idea...it might be good to see if t-there are any consistencies. I was just sitting a-around- [ ok well he was curled up in the corner of his room but whatever, same thing ] -when I saw the musicbox, and it's probably different for other people, b-but there might be some similarities.
