004 - [Video/Action for anyone in Parkor Estate] (Backdated to the 7th)

[Anyone that's looking for Kairi or watching her through the seal will see her mixing cake mix! There's a bunch of broken eggs lying on the counter and a jug of milk beside those. Cake batter is covering her face in splotches and there's even some in her hair and on her dress.

I can help! I'll be over there in a bit. [She laughs to herself on the way there. This was what, the third time she ran into someone who needed help in the Parkor kitchen? At least nothing was burnt this time.]

[She waves when she enters, then walks over to the giant bowl of batter.] So what's this cake for?

Great! I'll wait for you~ [Nope, not burnt. Just cake mix everywhere.]

It's a birthday cake~! My dad isn't here to make it so I gotta.

[She smiles softly at that answer. Like with the shells, this girl keeps trying to do things that make people happy even though her father's not around to help her. It's something to be admired.]

Whose birthday is it?

Mine, so I wanna make a cake I can share with everybody. There should always be cake, no matter who's having a birthday!

[Kairi loves making people happy.]

It's your-?! If I had known I would have made one for you!

[That just means she's gotta help you make this cake the amazingest it can be. She pulls out a few cake tins from the cupboard and puts them on the counter.]

What shape do you want the cake to be?

Actually, I kinda forgot until today! I've been havin' so much fun, I didn't think about it.

[Kairi's face scrunches up a bit before she points to a heart shaped tin.]

How about that one!

[floweronmyhead]

And I'm sure you'll have even more fun when you get to share your cake with everyone!

[She puts the other tins away and grabs a second heart-shaped one -- there's more than enough batter for it.]

Are there any directions for this?

[heartsradiance]

Yeah! Definitely!

[It takes her a minute to find the box from the cake mix but she does and holds it up.]

[After reading the instructions carefully, she sets the oven to the right temperature and starts pouring the batter into the tins.]

Oh, I don't think I introduced myself last time we met. My name's Kanonno. Nice to meet you!

[heartsradiance]

Nice to meet you too, Kanonno! I'm Kairi~

[She climbs onto a stool and grabs a towel, wiping some cake batter from her face. Then she watches carefully because it doesn't hurt to know how it all works.]

[She wishes up some oven mitts then looks back at the small girl watching her. Kanonno knows that look. That's the same look the kids at Rutee's orphanage would give her whenever they wanted to know what she was doing.

Kairi was a bit young to be using the oven on her own in Kanonno's opinion, but there was no harm in showing her what to do anyway. She goes through the process, explaining each part as she goes along:]

I just set the oven to the temperature the box said using this dial here and let it heat up before I put the cakes in.

Now that cake mix is poured in the tins, I can bake them, but not without these gloves or I might burn myself when putting them inside. Then we leave it in there for about thirty minutes.

Oh! I'm glad I asked for help then 'cos I wouldn't 'a got gloves. And then I'd get in trouble 'cos then I'd get burned.

[She's still grinning though.]

So, in thirty minutes we get to put icing on! Right? Can we put icing flowers on it?

I'm glad to help, and besides, it's a lot more fun to make a cake together anyway.

[That enthusiasm is just adorable. And contagious.]

Sure! Do we have icing already?

It really is! This is the first time I ever got to help make a cake before, I think I'm gonna do it again when it's Sora's birthday~

[Kairi does her best at making people happy!]

Yep! I wished up strawberry icing earlier!

[Grabbing the jar of icing and holding it up excitedly.]

Hmmmm..... [She stares at the jar with a contemplative look, as if trying to figure something out.]
