[ Everything was fine and dandy and Pongo had just finished his shower, walking around on his boxers and t-shirt, eating a super-sized burger. He's not wearing his Seal so you can see his deformed ear. This is just to say he's kind of deaf, but he can recognize the voice. He peeks outside to where he was napping.

And sees a kid in a yellow shirt.

[Bernie turns his head over his shoulder (or tries to, anyway, still lying flat on the floor with his stomach turned down). He looks both alarmed and relieved that Pongo finally showed up.]

Pongo! [A cough. He hates coughing gaaaah.] I'm a boy!

Yes! I can see that! [ He looks so surprised. Nope, the whole wish is not going to cross his mind. ] What happened!!

I don't know. [he just sounds more miserable by the second.] My wings and tail are gone and I can't stand up.

[ He stares. ]

Every time I try to stand up I just fall again. [GROAN.] This is awful.

We should get you to a doc! [ He rushes over to Bernie and grabs him under his arms, pulling him up. AT LEAST HE AIN'T DRAGON HEAVY NO MORE ]

[He tries to look over and see what Pongo is doing, pressing his lips uncomfortably when he's pulled up and onto his feet. He tries to place them flat against the floor, but the way his legs bend the wrong way is just Weird.]

But my wings should be on my back, not on my legs. [He's being picky on purpose. Hnng.] How do you stay up like that?

[ Pongo lets out a series of verbal wordsmash, flailing as well to kind of hold Bernie. ]

[ He brings both hands to his eye when the boy accidentally jabs an elbow against it. Oops, sorry, he let go. ]

[Bernie wobbles in a panic and actually manages to balance, but a wrong step has him falling onwards, barely having enough time to instinctively place his foot forwards, legs bending with a push.

He is now standing very, very still.]
