[It was a sleepless night for Enma - letting one's mind relax while you know that back home, the people most important to you have been shut up in prison is a difficult feat, to be sure. But more difficult to handle is the anger, the slow burn that he feels in his chest that slowly turns into a blaze of emotion that swallows him whole. He can't

I didn't take your family, Enma.

...I don't want to fight you, Enma.

It's too late for that!
[He thought you were better, once]
I gave you a chance, Tsunayoshi, and you made your choices.

[Tsuna echoes, looking confused and upset. Frustrated too. A chance? When? In that week? In that short time they were, Tsuna had felt, good friends? What had he done in that time? Was it because of the inheritance ceremony?]
You never gave me a chance, Enma. The inheritance ceremony--I made my choice to protect my friends. Fighting you, your family -- I never wanted any of that!
[Tsuna had trusted you so much and then you went and stabbed him--all of them in the back. He can understand Enma's hatred against him but his friends--Yamamoto, Chrome, Ryohei--they never deserved that. They never should have been hurt like that in the first place]

[It's almost funny, how hard they try to keep up this sort of charade]
Adelheid saw you the day I asked for your help. It was like nothing wrong! It was like you never missed me -- it's nice to be able to ignore "friends" when it's convenient, isn't it?

...what are you...talking about?

[His eyes sting a little and his voice cracks a little. When had Enma asked for help? To think he had left a friend behind because he was careless or something similar--]
I'm so sorry Enma...I'm sorry...I wasn't there--

For the amusement of seeing those stupid looks on their faces alone, Mukuro thinks it was worth it to eavesdrop on this little affair.
But what is one to make of this curious matter of calling Tsunayoshi's name and proceeding to engage in some confused, hormonal, adolescent drama reminiscent of a teenage soap opera? Mukuro can scarcely differentiate them from a pair of yapping chihuahuas (albeit one brightly coloured).
Naturally, he could not give less of a shit about their hysterics on any level of emotional or intellectual investment, but there is more here than meets the eye as concerns the larger picture of the Famiglia (not to ( ... )

Sorry?!
You're not sorry! I've told you before, Tsunayoshi, you're a liar! A fraud! I left you a letter! If you had cared at all, you would have been there! I gave you all the chances in the world!

[He didn't understand any of this at all. What letter?
He senses Mukuro and Ryohei nearby and hopes the latter is checking on Gokudera while Tsuna attempts to talk Enma down. He doesn't want to fight but he's starting to wonder if Enma was listening to him at all]
I never received a letter! And I do care, I would have been there if I had known!
