[Not sure why he decided on this place other than the ocean view but, Ren is currently out by the water near the Alpha district just sitting out there and playing his guitar that he luckily had with him when he first arrived. His guitar case isn't open and there's no hat in front of him because he isn't really a peddling busker musician anymore.
Plus, he had already been told that currency didn't actually exist which makes the idea of panhandling somewhat unnecessary. He's just playing for the sake of needed to play something before he went mad because guitar was basically his whole life.
