He's not going to let that override the fact that he is ridiculously worried about his friend, of course, and he sounds nervous and worried as he replies. ]

[ He keeps retracing his steps back to the hall in which they'd both arrived for about four or five more minutes. At some points, it's a little confusing, but it helps that the building is pretty big and visible from far off.

Eventually he arrives, panting softly, and opens the door before stumbling in and calling out. ] Blaaaine?
