[It's a moment before a faint whisper is heard over the seal, almost being drowned out by the waves. A tsk, and the sound of something burning. The crackles are the only sound besides the waves for a moment longer, like the one broadcasting is contemplating something- perhaps even second guessing even being out in the open. When Vanitas finally

'Stupid, stupid' he thinks as he jumps up to his feet, and looks down to the ground to see in just what kind of mess he had gotten himself into by getting lost in his thoughts - just in time to watch as another paopu go up into flames ( ... )

'Light... and a familiar-'
The Floods hiss, sinking into the ground before jumping up behind Riku and lunging for him. Any remaining Red Hot Chilis cease from burning the paopu fruit and begin to hover closeby. Protip, 'Ansem': Unversed killing makes for good anger management!
And all that negativity along with his emotions returning to him causes Vanitas to turn his head to face the emo kid the moment that Sora runs back home. Tch. Figures 'Ansem' would be around.]

Fighting Floods really isn't too different from fighting Shadows, nor is fighting Red Hot Chills from Red Nocturnes, but the admittedly the Mandrakes are pretty original and he hisses in surprise and pain when the leafs hit his legs for the first time.
But well, where would be the fun, if it was all the same old, he thinks and jumps the next time Leaf Cutter is send flying, landing right behind them and slamming down Soul Eater. Somewhere in the back of his mind he is aware that Vanitas is most likely somewhere close, watching this, watching him, but he can't bring himself to care; it has been close to two months since he or Soul Eater had last seen battle, two months filled with frustration and questions and old men with motives that are more than not to be trusted, which makes something so simple like ( ... )

Vanitas watches from the distance, smirking faintly. He can sense that darkness flow much more easily in the dance of battle, and grins when all that happens is the darkness flowing back to him. He creates more, a few Yellow Mustards joining the fray to spice things up a bit more. Who knows, he might just be nice and give Riku a treat after this.
Yellow Mustards use Thunder while their Red Hot Chili brethren cry out in death, Floods hissing in pain. The Mandrake squeaks, popping out of the ground and spreading a poison in the air around it.]

He knows he has to be careful about how much damage he takes in this fight; he has only a limited amount of potions at his disposal and he still is wary about trying to wish for them. Not to mention that he can feel Vanitas close by.]

Meanwhile, Vanitas continues to watch from a distance, carefully calculating the movements made. Hm... Obviously skilled in defensive fighting, as though through experience only. Raw potential to be sure, and being able to utilize some of the more advanced dark abilities at such a novice level... This one definitely had potential to be a threat were it not for the non-violence stance that this city had. If this kid wanted to become a Keyblade wielder, he'd need quite a bit of work... not to mention to stop running from the fear.
The Vile Phials glow green, casting Cure on the Yellow Mustards and Riku. Surprise, surprise~]

He changes his target from the Yellow Mustards to the Vile Phials; taking out the healers first is a basic battle tactic after all.]

Vanitas laughs from his vantage point.]

From afar he can hear Vanitas' laughter and feels irritation surge through him, before he puts his mind back on the current fight, skittering into stop and then moves his right hand to finish this by casting Dark Firaga again.]

However, for someone who technically isn't even a novice at wielding the Keyblade, he didn't do too bad a job. As a reward? Three Prize Pods hover around his head. They make no movement of attack; just hover there, waiting to see what this person their master decided to reward would do to them.]

And guess who's standing behind him, rather amused.]
Not bad. Though, all you have to do is tap them. [He taps the second one to prove a point. It drops Crystal Sugar.]

You are kidding me, right?

Do I look like I'm the kind to kid around, 'Ansem'?
By the way... get enough of those, and you might just be able to make some ice cream.
[His version of 'stop being an emo kid on the beach and littering the beach, dammit.' It's making him sick.]

You just summoned a bunch of Unversed(?) that leave behind sweets, which can be used to produce ice cream.
[Okay so maybe it kind of amuses him, but that still doesn't change that the concept of 'Prize Pots' is completely ridiculous.]

Had to eat somehow.
[And not on just negativity. It's unhealthy, after all. ...Enjoy that logic, man. He created them during a rough patch.]
Unlike a Heartless they sometimes decide to reward the idiots who just so happen to be able to defeat their kin. You didn't notice that while fighting?
