If it gets to be too much of a problem, I'm sure we can either figure out what can be gathered from the outlying portions of Splendor, or even fished from the waters. It's more work than walking into a store, but there's a trade-off for most anything you want in life.
Sakura will be fine, sir. There's a decent portion of Splendor that's lined up against the coast, and I'm pretty sure there's at least one major river flowing through the area. If you head South-East, you might have better luck than the North-East part of the coast.
