[Anyone who's currently at the park in the Metropolis District might notice a girl all dressed up in fashionable winter wear carting around a pig cat plushie in her arms. She had been walking around for quite some time now, looking for a place for her to see if her psych was still working. It was a bonus for her that there won't be any staring if ( Read more... )

[Bambi wanders around the city on a daily basis, dog curiosity to know about any changes or newcomers, and he stops when he sees the walking plushie. That's definitely new. He stays back and watches for a while, figuring out from the girl's motions that she's controlling it, wonders if she's a Local, but she doesn't seem to be acting right for that. Well, if she doesn't reply to his question then it's no skin off his nose.]

You wish for that?

[Whoops. Shiki didn't factor in that there are people who aren't Locals, the ones who were trapped in this place like her. They're the ones who would pay attention to what she was doing.]

Ahhhh! [She turns around, startled; looking for the owner of the voice. Mr. Mew quickly jumped and sat on her shoulder, looking curiously at the stranger that approached them.]

[Okaaay, deep breaths, Shiki. She puts a hand to her chest, heaving a deep sigh of relief before answering him.]

Ahaha... No, uh, I sorta can do this back home already.

[Her startled response startles him, and he goes tense, has a little mental battle with himself not to respond like the high-strung chihuahua in his head thinks he should. No bared teeth or nervous barking, instead he just half-mumbles,]

Didn't mean to scare you, sorry.

[He looks between the toy on her shoulder and her.]

You a witch?

[Waving her hands in front of her frantically.]

N-no! It's okay! I should've been paying more attention...

[Shiki frowns at his question, crossing her arms across her chest. Mr. Mew moves from Shiki's shoulder to settle on her head. He's watching you, Bambi. :|]

What the hell--no! Everyone in my world could do this!

[Well, everyone who died and ended up playing the Reapers' Game but details.]

[He frowns back briefly, he doesn't really mean witch like a bad thing - or a good thing, or leaning towards either, just in the middle -- maybe it'd be a good idea not to get into that discussion again, it was obviously too complicated for him.]

S'it just that one? Or can you make any toy move?

It's just him. I tried to move something else but no dice.

[Mr. Mew nods at that. Shiki did try on the first day of the Reapers' Game.]

He suits me just fine, though.

[A little disappointed, knew Tink would have loved chasing moving plushies around, but the girl probably doesn't want her cat ripped to shreds, which would be the inevitable result. Weird how the toy seems to move on its own, even when she doesn't seem to be telling it to do anything.]

Looks alive.

[Like a pet rather than a plushie.]

How'd you do it, if it ain't magic?

[She'll be really cheesed off if you gone and wreck Mr. Mew. It'll take her forever to mend him. :|]

He does look it, doesn't he?

[Oh, you don't know the half of it.]

Ah, I use this pin. [Gestures to the one pinned on her coat.] See?

The pin makes the plushie move.

[He tries to understand that, but fails. It's weirder than just plain 'magic' to him, really.]

That don't make sense.

Yup. I don't exactly totally understand how it works either, but it's just... is.

[She shrugs. Mr. Mew just nuzzles his face in her hair, making Shiki pat his head a bit absently.]

So it is like magic.

Pretty much! Though it's more "psychic" than "magic", I guess~

But psychic's just doin' stuff with your head, ain't it? Seen witches use things to do stuff before. Not a pin, but... things, little things.

That's what I'm doing! I'm using a pin but I'm moving him with my head!
