He knew that Rue was Mytho's princess. Certainly, Fakir was no longer a knight, but he vowed to protect Mytho and Ahiru nonetheless, didn't he? That meant that his protection needed to extend over to Rue as well, no matter how much he didn't like it.
She might not have been Kraehe anymore, but like hell if he could just ignore a lifetime of rivalry and resentment.
Gritting his teeth, he strolled through the kitchen and opened the pantry, unsurprised to see a large collection of jars of peanut butter.
