With the news of flower shops and whimsical species of nature in the Wonderland District, Edel was keen to investigate on his own accord. He held in his hands a small notebook, one for both notes and drawings of flowers and other flora found in these parts. It was a mission for him. Whether or not he was in school, he always took his work seriously. If he absolutely had to learn anything about Splendor, it was the plant life surrounding it and- that of shops selling it.

He was curious, to say the least.
A few plumerias dotted the sides of the streets, each seemed brighter than the last in hue. They were always lovely to look at, but plumerias and other tropical plants were known to contain medicinal values to them as well. If researched properly, than surely an alchemist worth his gold would be able to prevent and null diseases still present in their current lifetime.

It didn't help that they were the color of the sky, too. He recalled Elanore once mentioning this. They were so bright! If you held them to the sky, would they be the same color?

He scoffed at her analysis back then.
With that thought his expression grew sullen. Edel took to a bench nearby sighing as he thought about his lack of support here. He never really thought about how he treated his friends, but now that they weren't here...

He opened the journal he carried. There was no point in thinking about it then. He could do nothing about it; he was useless- as usual. He was rude, condescending, and easily aggravated by others. Of course, he wanted to not let others get close to him. It rather frightened him.

People were terrifying.
Was this what he honestly thought?

Edel clicked the pen on and off. He simply stared at the blank opening of the journal and continued this ritual. Although he had come out here to investigate, he found himself instead reminiscing about himself and his underlying problems. The thoughts wouldn't stop dancing around in his head. While his job may be to help others with the use of science and magic he truly was nothing more than a coward who ran away from others and- ultimately, himself.

Click, click.
On and off, the pen continued to click.
