Four FANTASTIC things in this week's comics:
1) Cyclops' masterstroke against Norman Osborn (Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-Men: Exodus). I love it when Marvel plays up the fact that Cyclops is the greatest strategic mind in the Marvel U when Steve Rogers isn't around. Bendis nailed that in House of M when the heroes turned to Scott for leadership. Fraction nailed it here, after five issues of glorious setup. And that in an event that sets up a new and exciting status quo for the X-Men, shows us the Dark Avengers' first big defeat (and, really, kicking off the next act of the wonderful Dark Reign era), firmly establishes Scott as a leader not to be messed with, and, well, sets up an intriguing turn of events for Emma. Seriously, great conclusion to a really good story.
2) Peter finding out how the Chameleon "improved" his life (Amazing Spider-Man #604). It gives us a few nice status quo shifts for Harry and Michelle, and gives more concrete answers about Mary Jane, and it's all very nice. But almost more importantly, it's all part of a GREAT shift for Chameleon, who was basically ruined back in the 90s. Van Lente did a great job revamping Spidey's first villain, and it's long overdue.
3) The Incredible Hercules #134. The whole thing. But ESPECIALLY the last page. OMFG, Thor. Poor, poor Thor.
4)G-Man: Cape Crisis #2. I love Chris Giarusso from Mini-Marvels, but his G-Man stuff is even better. He basically writes Superhero Peanuts, and it's great. There needs to be a G-Man ongoing.
