weekend +
This weekend was fun ... Hung around the e-town for part of Saturday, ate southern food, (got sighted by some of my students), then took the el to Uptown for the sold-out Feist concert at the Riviera. It was nice since I hadn't been to a concert, except my friend's cover band, for awhile. (Minus concerts at work, I guess.) Anyway, Feist's foot was broken, so she hobbled on and off stage with a cane. A cane! She also played drums for the opening band, which was cool but ... the opening band was kind of slow. Too whiny even for me. But Feist was so good! I love her voice. It was even better live.
Also, boy got hit on by a pack of "cougars" ... I think there are a lot of cougars in Chicago. I thought it was kind of awesome. I would like to be a cougar someday.
Saw more students from work on the way back ... I think I see them every time I go out. Anyway.
Sunday was fun too. Went to see Beowulf in 3D at Navy Pier. I am a sucker for those kinds of epic movies, and it also let me continue my girlcrush weekend (with Angelina Jolie of course.) Bought my cat a "cat tree" on the way home, and he's been occupied by it ever since. This makes me happy too.
Monday went surprisingly quickly ... complete with a home-cooked meal and my first taste of egg nog for the year :) Hopefully the rest of the week will be the same enjoyable quickness until the Thanksgiving break.
