The thing is...you're probably right. But it doesn't make me not want to try. I don't want to make them use birth control if they don't want to, I don't want to make them have abortions, I don't want them to stop worshipping their god or attending their church or in any ways stop them from practicing their religion. But don't I have just as much right to follow my own religion and not have their religion/religious opinions forced upon me (and I know, I know, that you understand this I just...AUGH)

Yes, exactly - isn't there some quote from some movie about "we have become what we abhor" - all the sacrifices you make to fight something else only making you into that which you fight against.

This whole current issue makes me think of a video we watched in high school about world population growth and one segment that focused on the Phillipines. the Phillipines are a catholic nation and didn't have any birth control and a lot of families were having many more children than they could support, which meant poverty was WAY high and standard of living WAY low and there was pretty high infant/child mortality and disease and hunger and stuff. Then a new bishop took over and allowed condoms. No other birth control, just condoms. And families starting having fewer children, but were more able to feed and care for their children and standard of living went up and up and up. And then the bishop left and the new one once again banned all birth control and they quickly returned to their previous state.

I mean. Really. People.

Okay. I should stop ranting and go do stuff I need to do.
