Random things my brain generates on the cusp of sleep.

Since I've noticed that calling out shitty, sexist anti-women language and behavior (especially when it's coming from women) using the word misogyny is considered too harsh, and I think just calling shenanigans is too nice, I've decided we need a new word to talk about these issues. A compromise.

Misogynanigans.

Does that mean I have to faint now?

Only if you read the kind of books or watch the kind of TV Charlotte Allen doesn't approve of.

God. Why not just say "we white people have no rhythm" or "we black people have rhythm" or "we hispanic people have better rhythm" or "we gay people look the best wherever there's rhythm"? It's all just as stereotypical. (I tried typing more racist remarks than the silly rhythm thing, but I'm physically unable.)

I don't read Oprah books or romance novels in general, I'm good a math, I don't watch Grey's Anatomy, I've never been in an accident in spite of having a drive commute for 15 years, and I own a grand total of 6 pairs of shoes that get me through life.

So first off, don't be including me in your "we" stereotype of women.

And second, who the hell cares if someone loves shoes? Or adores Grey's Anatomy? Or digs reading trashy romance novels? They fail at being a woman? If that's ALL there is to their life, they fail as a person.

Oh, and why the HELL must women constantly think that emotions are "weak?" or "silly?" Where did that notion come from? Sure if you're 24/7 hysterical about something, that's ridiculous, but ( ... )

Holy Christ. I'd heard about it, but hadn't actually read the article until now. I couldn't get past about the 3rd paragraph. Fuck!

I don't know, I just call bullshit, but I'm crude like that.

There's just so much... *wrong*, there that I don't even know where to start. Women's and men's brains are different? Well, d'uh! But researchers don't generally make assumptions (unlike her) that one is any better than the other. Different doesn't mean bad, or wrong... or *anything*!

Her article reminds me of some particularly ugly assumptions made by pseudo-scientists about African-Americans way back in the bad old days.

It hasn't gotten any prettier over the years.

Be glad you stopped at the 3rd paragraph. By the end, my eyes were bleeding and I wanted to harm people.

Misogynanigans - it calls them on their self-hate and mocks them at the same time.

WIN.
