Being able to run out for chai in a short sleeve shirt, with no coat, in JANUARY, is very very weird.
My sister-in-law's baby shower is this coming Sunday. This past Sunday I said, "Oh, I should make the baby an afghan!" And then I couldn't do something simple and fast, oh no. I had to do multiple colors and multiple stitches and make up my own pattern because I am crazy like that. And of course I've changed the pattern like three times.
Less than three weeks to ConFusion! Yay! ConFusion is awesome. It's like a cheap weekend retreat with a bunch of people as dorktastic as I am, with nothing more pressing to to than maybe go to a panel if your ass is sore from sitting in the bar all day. This will be our third, I think, and seriously, fairmer and I start talking longingly about in it like August.
I'm still debating heading out to MediaWest again. Last year was fun, but the hotel sucked (The Days Inn just down the street from the con hotel - ugh, avoid at all costs), and it really seems to be a con more oriented to returning congoers. It wasn't a sense of exclusion, exactly, so much feeling like I was horning in on a big family reunion. However, it was nice to meet sjhw_tolerance and skydiver119 and a handful of others, and great hanging with jalara for the weekend. It'd be awesome if they did day passes, as I'm not sure I'd want to go for the whole weekend again, and $50 is on the line of what I'd be willing to pay for just Saturday and part of Sunday. Anyone else planning to hit MW?
