Showers are a writer's best friend.
Have successfully registered for ConFusion and MediaWest. MediaWest will be a whole new experience as I have never been to an actual media con, and I am excited in that way only total dorks can be. ConFusion I look forward to because it doesn't have the pressing, frantic nature of bigger cons. It's the most relaxing con I've ever been to - go to a few panels, wander through the dealer's room, get lots of sleep, and the rest of the time sit in the bar nursing an Amaretto Sour or three and dork out with smart, funny people.
In the vein of the entry title, shower-induced brilliant epiphanies have led me to actual work on both the SG-1-as-space-pirates-in-leather-pants story and the team ficathon story. Okay, brilliant is likely an exaggeration in both cases, but as what I have now is so much better than what I had before, they sure seem brilliant in scale. I'm still in a place where I don't trust my writing skills, and I must kick my ass out of it, because all it does is lead to being fraught with misery and playing "musical plots" as I discard idea after idea, then going back and forth bewteen two or three because I keep second-guessing their merit. Yeesh. Stupid writer brain.
