dwinn intercepted a call from the vet at home (they have proven incapable of reading the spot on Paradox's file that has my work number as my primary contact). Nothing was said about the sky-high blood sugar, which was the big problem last time, and now she was saying something about hyperthyroidism and bring him back in four months for new bloodwork.
Ooookay. I call to clarify all this, and of course she's busy all day, and won't be back in the office until Friday. So I leave a message stating my confusion that in the span of two weeks they've given me two completely different diagnoses, with completely different potential angles of treatment, and I'd really like to know if my cat is going to spontaneously combust or something.
I get a call back from one of the vet techs, who explains that the high blood sugar must have been stess-related (which doesn't sound quite right, but whatever), because it's perfectly normal now, but he is borderline hyperthyroid, and no treatment for now, just watch him for certain signs and come back in four months.
So yay, I think.
