Citizen Joe is going right into my top ten favorite episodes. Maybe top five. Hysterical meta, hysterical self-referential mockery of the show and the writers, hysterical pokes at the extremes of fandom. In keeping with the ficcish themes of this season, it came across just like a parody fic.
None of it came across as particularly mean or condescending to me, as I have seen it noted in other places; it was lot of the same commentary on the show and fandom that goes through my head on a regular basis. Then again, I think The Geek Hierarchy is some seriously funny shit, and one of the most accurate assessments of things fannish ever produced, so that may just say more about my sense of humor than anything else.
And now I want to see Jack and Joe kicking back with a beer someday, doing more deep Simpsons meta-analysis.
