Glad it's helpful! XD Although really there should be 2other email addresses on the list from the past few months, I've already muted their conversations in my mailbox and don't want to search them out. One was from a Middle Eastern country which made me uncomfortable already, the other was from Peru which I've safely sent stuff to for other customers, but that other particular person was nasty. The last I saw of these 2 people, they were cussing me out so bad and immaturely... it hurt me, not personally, but HUMANELY at the fact that people are that lame about their own failures >_>; So sad!!!! XDD I need to stare at cute cats for like an hour after thinking about their failure. Also have had communication flops with other overseas countries like the Philippines, even Spain. I don't want to "discriminate" or "generalize" about sending to certain countries but the real truth is there are a LOT OF TERRIBLE BUYERS from those countries lol >_>; I don't blame any seller for making VERY strict rules about shipping outside the countries they're comfortable with, and even now I'm working on making my rules stricter to deal with these kinds of situations.
Even domestically can be an issue, I just had a buyer from fb messaging express their concerns to me because I shipped to the address on their paypal payment, in which later they told me that they no longer lived at that apartment and they had no decent way of contacting the place. They assumed I would send to the address they briefly tossed at me when I asked for their location (I ask because I only need to know whether it's domestic USA or international to make the estimate), and after that they spammed me with like 20 individual messages for each item they wanted to order (I had to instruct them very strictly to make the order in one message because the separate messages look terrible on fb messenger, and they were spamming me with phone notifications with every message >_>), so obviously I did not have that address in mind when they sent the paypal payment, and it came time to ship. My first question is WHY DID THEY KEEP A WRONG ADDRESS ON THEIR PAYPAL AND SEND IT TO ME IN THE FIRST PLACE ugh x_x Anyway, there was zero communication on their end about the incorrect paypal address until it was too late, so they're going to have to be held accountable for that. I offered to resend the package if it came back to me if they re-paid for shipping, but what happens at this point is up to the buyer dealing with the address they sent to me.
Also, the deal with people sending unauthorized payments on Paypal is that they are a real pain to refund, unless they sent as friends/family, because Paypal won't refund the 30 cent initial transaction fee on a full refund unless you work through it with paypal customer service through phone, explaining why the transaction wasn't authorized etc (which wastes so much time)... so yeah you want to avoid that XDD
Oh god, sorry for the rant!! XD I've been doing this too long lol
Haha. No worries about the rant. It's actually good to know. XD I haven't been selling online that long, but I have encountered some pretty bad buyers on ebay. The worst was this one buyer who contacted me asking me to lift one of my bidding restrictions because they were "unjustly" given a strike by another seller. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I allowed them to bid. Then when they won the item, they asked me if they could pay for the item later than my listing specified. Hesitantly, I allowed it. Then, when it came time for them to pay, they never sent payment, so I had to email them reminding them that payment was due. They sent it, and it seemed like everything was going to be fine, but they put a note on their payment requesting that I send the item to somewhere in Canada, when my listing specifically said that I do not ship outside the USA. :\ When I told them that I already accommodated them enough by lifting the bidding restriction and by giving them a payment extension, they angrily told me that I should do whatever they want because they already paid. And when I explained that the listing price was calculated based on domestic postage and not international postage, they said that they could pay the extra shipping cost if I waited for another week. By then, I was so frustrated that I just took the hit in shipping costs and sent it to them in Canada and blocked them. Luckily, they gave me positive feedback, but it was the worst experience I had selling. >_
oh man! I've had an issue with a straight out non-paying buyer on ebay but at least it didn't come with the coercing time wasting that you had to go through x_x; They were just completely silent even after I filed the non-payer claim etc, and it was just a pain having to wait the full time when it was obvious they weren't ever going to pay XD; That was a buyer from Mexico, so now I'm just not allowing international shipping... xD It looks like ebay has an option to send to their distribution center and they handle the international shipping, but I haven't looked into whether that's a reliable/good option or heard from others who use it.
But omggg you took the hit in the end... *HUG* likely I wouldn't have done that and I would've reported it to ebay instead, I'm really into seller's protective rights so I would've been stubborn about that until the very end XDDDD But then there's also how much money you could still get out of it so I can see why you would possibly take the hit, so I still would've considered that too xD Thanks for sharing that too!
