I wouldn't necessarily call it the bus to hell, but its been one hell of a ride. you were only on the bus for about 3 minutes... what the frack are you talking about...
The last couple days at work have been trying in the extreme. Good work, but not necessarily what my job is "supposed to be". but perhaps its the job you want. The work has been long and emotionally draining. Not terribly unexciting probably because it wasn't in the norm, exposure to the right people but not necessarily the way you would have wanted it... could have done better but it is what it is.
Come 6:00 tonight I was about DONE. Nothing more I could do to prepare for the meeting tomorrow. Two different sets of presentation material out the door. time for a drink
I go blasting out of the lobby getting ready for a quick run to catch the train. I come around the corner of the building up along Ross street and without any reason whatsoever, the DART Bus infront passing slammed on his breaks and opened the door.
Normally I don't take the bus, I just walk (or take the company shuttle), but this guy stopped and asked, "Where ya head'n"? I said, "Union Station!". "Get on in here", he replied and I hoped the bus. bring on the public transit If I'd run the whole way to the station, I'd probably still made it. But this guy just kinda made my day. A little karma for the crap at the office. nice little bump... still give me that beer
Got to the train and decided to blow off work on the ride home and picked up another little bonus. It seems that old friends and classmates from high school are starting to show up on facebook. good to see you guys again
Now, its time for that beer.
