YEAR IN REVIEW
Post the subject line and a sentence or two from the first entry of each month.
JANUARY 1
The winds that blow remind me
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Hope everyone had a spectacular start to 2006. I was the only one who stayed up, so I watched the ball drop by myself and then watched all of the available first season The Office commentaries.
FEBRUARY 3
CommentarizingI think I am going to try to write LJ comments during my lunch break at Parkview on a more regular basis. I find it's a fun thing to do while I'm eating and gives me a little time to catch up without distracting me from other stuff.
MARCH 1
ProfilingAlright, ladies -- help a guy out and take a look at the last line of links at the top of my journal. I seriously need to get out more, this may be one way to do it.
APRIL 1
Crash ImpendingI love showers that are so hot that you shiver when you first step in. Ah...
MAY 1
Fragrance GardenMy grandfather passed away in 1993, but he was very big into flowers and gardening while he was alive. When he died, my grandmother and others (including AAL, now
Thrivent) contributed to a fragrance garden in his memory. This is the largest garden dedicated to a single individual at the
Memorial Park Arboretum & Gardens in Appleton, WI.
JUNE 1
Disintegrating Caffeine
Life is pretty boring overall. I went downtown to the Community Center last night to help teach sabre to the Beginners with the assistance of Greg and
fleche_wounded, we had fun doing that. Some of us went out to O'Sullivan's afterward, but they were out of food when we got there so we "retraced our steps" back to Henry's.
JULY 4
Allegiance pledged
Happy Independence Day!
GO, USA!!!
For those of you who haven't done so, I would love for you to take my
10 Silly Picks Poll! I've gotten quite a number of people to answer it, it's pretty amusing to see what people select.
AUGUST 2
Drama which fascinates librarians and other geeks
Stephen Colbert Causes Chaos on Wikipedia, Gets Blocked from Site Don't kill Harry Potter, authors urge Rowling SEPTEMBER 1
Romatia transicara edicatorum(You know LJ doesn't quite rule your life anymore when you don't immediately post something of this magnitude!)
So, guess who called? I got a call from the
University of St. Francis today (well, technically yesterday) and they offered me the job! Holy crap, I still don't believe it.
OCTOBER 3
Permanent Worldwide Dictator-For-LifeI tend to be pretty clever. I am usually smart and have good ideas. (All of you who are laughing your asses off, cut it out!) I'm not saying this to be egotistical, it's just a fact. I've been blessed, quite simply.
NOVEMBER 1
Blow the roof offCurrently working my late day at the library, I figured I'd take a short break and check LJ a little. Hope everyone is doing well and getting through the week in fine style.
DECEMBER 6
Show me risk and you'll get my attentionArgh. As I told
hellokitty138last week, I fully realize that a person has to act or react to things differently in the work environment than you would in a more casual or "friendly" one. The hard part, as I previously observed, is knowing what the lines are and how to avoid potential pitfalls!
