Cougars on the rampage
I am pleased to report that you are now reading the journal of the newest employee at the University of St. Francis library! Woo-hoo! Norma called this morning and said the offer was still on the table, though they couldn't meet my salary expectations. After thinking about it over the weekend and getting advice from various individuals, I decided it was still a good deal and accepted! This means full-time employment with vacation and benefits, starting ASAP. I believe my title will be known as "Librarian Assistant" -- it's not an MLS position, but it's a good transition from Parkview to a degreed position down the road. This allows me to work full-time and accrue supervisory experience in an academic library, so those will definitely be good things. This also allows me to remain near my folks and not have to stress about moving. So, I definitely feel good about it. I just turned in my two weeks notice to Parkview this afternoon, so the ball has started rolling there as well. As much as I love Julie and have enjoyed my employment at Parkview, it's time to move on to new challenges and a bigger opportunity. Go, USF Cougars! *thumbs up*
