phantomrain,
librarygal, Engineer Boy,
squealnakedcatj, and myself all helped
springsea
move to her new apartment today. Her father and sister were also present and
assisting in the transition, so it was nice to meet them. Got there
about 9:15 AM, and the truck already had quite a few items in it.
Helped get everything out, then
squealnakedcatj pulled into the parking lot just
as were were finishing up. Of course, we had to give him a hard time
about that! We then formed a caravan and made our way, slowly but
surely, across town to
springsea's new complex.
When we got there, I made the mistake of bumping up against the lift
mechanism and got grease on my shorts. I went into the bathroom and
tried to get it out as best I could, but all I really did was make sure
I would be wet for the rest of the morning. Blah! We got everything
transferred in good time;
springsea was having some initial trouble figuring out where she wanted things to go, but it all turned out quite nicely.
squealnakedcatj
made amends for his tardiness at that point and put the stereo
together, as well as wiring the playback devices to the TV. Her
dad ran out to the grocery store while we were finishing up, and came
back with food and drinks. We were able to make some nice, healthy
sandwiches after a long morning of work! Amazingly, we were pretty
much done by 12:15 PM.
squealnakedcatj and
I then returned to my apartment downtown for a little relaxation and
fun time. The Onion Gal didn't call, so I assume she and her sister
were able to handle things in her move without problems. That meant
the two of us were able to pull out the old N64 for
some gaming enjoyment. We played "Goldeneye" for a while and went back
and forth in victories, then partially completed a round of "Mario
Party 3." Yoshi had been a mortal enemy, but a recent Chance moment
has now transferred the momentum to the computerized Daisy. She must
be stopped! It's funny because we get really into that game and don't
know anyone else who loves it half as much as we do.
Planning to go to church tomorrow, then I will try to get some work
done at the library. I may check out the jazzfest, not sure
if I will or not. Hopefully, I'll be able to get in to UL and get some
work done! I like to drive on weekends because I can park for free in
the parking garage, but I may ride my bike just so I don't have to deal
with all the traffic hassle. Anyway, it's been a productive weekend
and hope it will continue to be.
