Ahhhh, the sheer brilliance that is Tufts University. After being shut out of Intro to Mass Media for the THRID semester in a row, and Media, Politics and Law for the second semester, I'm a little frustrated. I am a Communications and Media Studies minor...thus, I need to take Communications and Media Studies classes to fulfill this minor....but if I am shut out of such classes, I obviously can't take them. So I went to the CMS department (and by CMS department I mean the little hole-in-the-wall, closet-in-its-past-life office) and told them this...and they're like "Well, even if you are going abroad Junior year, seniors still take Intro to Mass Media...blah blah". And then they said "It's in your best interest to take Intro to Mass Media before taking other CMS classes." Well...THAT makes sense...I should accept that fact that I can't get in the required class and hold off on it till senior year, and then, what...fulfill all four other course requirements and the Senior project 2nd semester senior year??!?!?!?! Whhaaaat??? So, yea, I'm going to basically beg the Intro to Mass Media professor to let me add the course in September. As for Media, Politics and Law, I emailed Goldman, the professor, who I happened to have interviewed for my senior project last year and basically based half of my paper on....so he better let me in.
So, regardless of if I get into those two classes, my schedule looks pretty good....no Fridays, no early early classes, etc....
Mondays: 10:30 to 11:45 - President & Exec. Branch with Berry (my advisor who is amazing)
1:30 to 2:20 - Poli-Sci Research Methods (muahahaha I'm fulfilling my math requirement and my Poli-Sci methodology requirement....with Debbie
Schildkraut!)
Tuesday: 10:30 to 11:45 - Social Movements in American Politics w/ McKissick (supposedly amazing)
1:30 to 3:50 - Performance and Politics (a random Anthro. class that counts for a CMS credit...but I'll drop it if I get into Mass Media, since I techinically should take Mass Media before this class)
Wednesday: 10:30 to 11:45 - President & Exec. Branch
1:30 to 2:20 - Poli-Sci Research Methods
Thursday: 10:30 to 11:45 - Social Movements in American Politics
3:00-3:50 - Poli-Sci Research Methods
If I get into Mass Media, that's 9:30 to 10:20 on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings....but I won't have that two and a half hour Performance and Politics Antho. seminar. And if I get into Media, Politics, and Law, that's 7:00 - 9:45 on Thursday nights...which sucks, but that's when it's offered...and then I'd probably be dropping Social Movements...so....we'll see. Either way, even if I don't get into those two classes, my schedule is solidly decent.
Anyhow....ummm, yea, so my life is officially consumed by Hillel and admissions stuff. I've been on Hillel exec board (Outreach VP!) for less than 2 days, and I have about a trillion meetings already. But it's ok...we all know how much I love it lol....
And April Open House is this Friday, and next Thursday and Friday...which means I'm getting up at about 6 AM all three days and going non-stop until about 6 PM...registration, tours, the Deans Reception I'm co-chairing, etc etc. But, again, we all know that I love this stuff.
I wish it weren't snowing outside...it's fucking April. There should not be snow, especially when it was 70 on Sunday and I have been frolicking around in skirts and flip flops and whatnot...
I've come to the conclusion that I'm never not going to be stressed and/or busy in my life...I have a wonderful habit of overcommitting myself....oh well....
Alright, dinner time then Hillel (because, honestly, where else would I be??),then maybe doing some work......
