my coworker had a her honeymoon in cancun off-season and she said it was not wild at all and there was a lot to do. she said it was a lot of fun. so maybe not an impossible destination!

Turns out there are many more options, Mayan ruins, and more variety than neighboring Belize or most of the Caribbean islands. I'm not sure how well our "winging it" backpacking vacation style will work just yet, but there are possibilities.

thanks. :)

I have to take him to the bus now and then go see my dad for a few. Not sure I will be back in time for an early skype. Should I try you when I do get back anyway? It could be 1pm-3pm+ Boston time, depending on how long things go with my dad.

*hug*

Aww!!! That is so awesome. I really want to do the same sort of thing this year, but seeing as it might be the last holiday in New England for me for a while I ought to spend as much time with family as I can. ;)

Makes sense.

My brother & his wife want to do Christmas the weekend before, since her family takes up all of their time, and its never been a consistent holiday in our family. So between that, and RS being gone (with all the unknowns for his future schedule), and family stress around my Nana, its the perfect time for the two of us to go away and reconnect.

We both were sort of thinking of going back to Puerto Rico to see his family, but flights are outrageous right now, and we've never had a long trip alone together.

Dinner sometime this week?
