Livid!

The following website is used across the country to make public the information on registered sex offenders: http://www.familywatchdog.us

Do any of you have children? Put your address in the window, and press enter to see how many sex offenders live near you.

Did you get the same message as I did?

No mapable data

Unfortunately, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont do not currently provide addresses for registered sex offenders. Consequently, we are unable to provide adequate or meaningful information about sex offenders located in these states. We will add functionality that will allow searches by name and city in the future.

We suggest that you contact your state senators and representatives and ask them why you cannot have access to critical information you need to protect your loved ones. Tell them that you want the same registered sex offender location information that is available to your neighbors in surrounding states.

WHY IS NEVADA ONE OF ONLY FOUR STATES IN THIS COUNTRY WHO IS UNWILLING TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN FROM SEXUAL PREDATORS?

Now put in a valid address in another state and click search. Not only will you see their location, you can click on one of the squares and a pop up window will show you a picture of the offender as well as a history of their crimes and a description. What better way to make sure that our children KNOW the face of these predators? Yet our state rather protects sexual predators over the safety of our children?

Nevada is one of the only FOUR states in our union who does NOT report registered sex offenders to the public. Why do our children not have the same right as all of the other 46 states who protect their children?

We beg you to PLEASE immediately make steps to release this very vital information to the public so that parents across the state of Nevada will have the same tools as other parents to protect our children.

Your response is most appreciated, as I, along with thousands of other mothers, would like a valid reason why we are unable to access this information, and why the state of Nevada does not allow us to have information that will protect our children.

If you are included in this email, please hit “reply all”, copy in your family, friends, co-workers, EVERYONE, who has the interest of children at heart. Let us NOT stop until our State catches up with the rest of the country and releases information vital to the protection of our children.

Thank you!

The Parents of the State of Nevada
