[about a half-hour after the conversation, a blue-haired woman shows up on Beaver Street, eyes on the houses around her, scanning numbers. (under normal circumstances she would never consider this, but she hadn't had a smoke in five days, and it was getting to her.) finally she spots 1767 and stops, gaze trailing over the lawn of the aforementioned number, to see if she had really been fooled or not.]
[Waiting on the lawn is a sharply dressed man, who just happens to be smoking at this very moment. In his free hand in a near-full carrying case of cigarettes. He nods politely to the blue-haired girl, guessing that she's a nicotine-needy woman.]
[the first thing she notices about the man isn't his attire, but the cigarette in his mouth, the pack in his hand and Kanna immediately steps forward. she still appears suspicious, if only a little, but figures she's out of options at this point.]
Yeah.
[not the kind of conversation she was accustomed to, to say the least.]
[He notes that she's not a very talkative type, but that doesn't deter him from helping out a damsel in distress. He walks over to her calmly, pulling two cigarettes from the pack and offering them to her.]
Need a light?
[Logically, he's guessing she'll want one right now to smoke. He pockets the extra cigarettes and fishes out a silver lighter.]
[muttering something that might be a thank you and might be a string of curses, she reaches out and takes the two cigarettes, placing one between her lips immediately, the other held safely between her fingers. she glances up at the man, reaches instinctively for her side but stops herself. no lighter anymore. she almost sighs.]
Yeah. Yeah, I do.
[reaching out, she lifts the lighter out of the mans hands and opens the cover before flicking it to life and holding it to the cigarette, inhaling automatically.]
[He can only make out a few of her mumbled words, but that's not what gets his attention. When she takes the lighter out of his hand, the Spy can't help but smirk and laugh a little under his breath. In a good way, of course. He likes feisty and strong women.]
Keep it. I have an extra.
[He's quiet for the next few minutes, just content with watching her smoke. One hand slips into his suit pocket, while the other holds onto his cigarette.]
[she's barely paying attention when the man laughs, more intent on inhaling and holding the sweet cancer in her lungs for as long as possible. she knew she'd probably have to wait a few days to have the other cigarette, so she planned no thoroughly enjoying this one in the meantime, even if it wouldn't last. there's another mumble that might be a thank you but is less likely of being curses this time, and she pockets the lighter, eyes on the sky.]
I needed that.
[already she looks less tense, but being Kanna, she's always somewhat tense, always angry. it was just how she was. she looks at his however, eyes him up and down. human. great. she owed a human.]
[He nods lightly, still watching her movements and general reaction to things. From first appearance, he can't find anything unusual about the woman, other than her tense, angry nature.]
It's nice to meet a fellow smoker around here.
[He reaches into his pocket, removing his wallet, and takes out a fair amount of money. Without warning, he walks over to Kanna and forces the cash into her free hand.]
I know zhis doesn't help right now, but when things calm down zat should cover a few packs.
[even if he was human, that was at least true. none of her teammates back home were smokers.]
Yeah, sa--
[she's cut off though and immediately stares at the man before her, switching her gaze from the money in her hand to the person before her. was he trying to play at something? ...still, for a moment there the sheer confusion had played out across her face. she held her hand out to him, offering the money back.]
I can get my own.
[even if she had no idea of how to go about doing that. but she would. she didn't need help. ...no matter how tempting the prospect of more cigarettes in the future was.]
I suppose I could spare a cigarette or two.
