Busy. Tired.
This weekend was Intercon and it took a lot out of me. Even with naps on Saturday and Monday I'm still in sleep deficit. And yay for modern migraine medications, they make all the difference in my world.
Both my games were very good: well written and well run. Both had the normal assortment of hiccups and issues, but all were smoothed over by the normally high quality of players. Of course it helps that in both games I was cast in fairly active roles, so even when things were got a little rough I was never bored. In my first game my character was mostly written to lose, which he did, but gracefully. In my second game my character was written not to win, which he didn't, but with aplomb and style. I thought I had accepted that I was on the slow, four hour slide to inevetability in both cases, but last night I had a crazy dream about LARPing and getting hosed by imbalanced GM calls, so I think I'm still harboring some resentment. Or maybe I'm sensing resentment from some of the other players who got hosed. Either way, wacky, frustrating LARP dreams.
The great proto-glacier is retreating from the yard, revealing things pretty much as I left them last fall. Most of the bushes seem to have sprung back. The Bridal Bouquet suffered some, but will likely recover. The grape fine however had all its leaders shorn off either by ice or animal. That puts us back a year on harvest. This fall I'll have to but a shield around it to protect it. I won't know about the roses until I unbag them in a month or so, but for now, they look OK. I've started some flowers and veggies in the seedling trays to fill out the gardens in the spring. Between that and some survivors from the winter shelter we might manage minimal plant purchasing this year.
Now, back to work, were the lists are long and the problems plentiful.
