The frustration floats behind my eyeballs and yet I retain a Buddha-like calm.
Yesterday, for no apparent reason, I could not connect my development environment to my DB. I think it had to do with installing some service patches and resetting some preferences. No problem, I thought. After poking around in the guts of both programs I surmised that a clean install would be easier and faster. But, my copy of my dev platform seems to be corrupted, so my options have been significantly reduced. But I uninstalled the one program I knew I could replace, but the reinstall went all FUBAR. Now I'm on my fifth uninstall/reinstall cycle and I'm hoping I've figured out the magic combination of restarts and install layerings to allow my dev platform to again see my DB.
