Dargo and I just had a very excellent walk to the bank and the library. We haven't done that in a while and at first he was all over the place. But in no time at all he remembered: to sit and heel at crosswalks; to lie down when I tuck his leash under my foot; and to walk beside me, not pulling me like a sled dog in heat.
And I've realized that I haven't shared Dargo's new look with most of you. When we went to Intercon, we put him in the kennel and had him groomed. His coat was so matted that they had to shave him down. No big deal, we were going to do it anyway. When we went to pick him up they brought him out and we looked past him trying to find our dog. I laughed so hard at the change my sides hurt. Here's why.
Dargo Before
Dargo After
He looks like a totally different animal. Thankfully he still acts the same (though a bit bolder now with AC and peripheral vision). And he still smells the same. That's the only thing that convinced me it was the same dog.
